Rhinebeck - 39th Annual NYS Sheep and Wool Festival
We just came home from Rhinebeck. (If by any chance you are not familiar with the area, it is two hours north of New York, along the Hudson river in the Hudson Valley. Chelsea Clinton got married here.)
It was a wonderful experience. I was clearly overwhelmed, so many beautiful choices, ideas and animals. I have been to this city before, but was unaware of the wool festival. This was the first time I went to the fairgrounds. My husband was a real trooper, first because he drove back and forth and secondly, I can"t imagine how it must feel, to look at yarn and animals who produce them, for four hours - if that is not your passion.
Nem regen erkeztunk haza Rhinebeckbol. Ez olyan ket orara van tolunk, eszakra a Hudson folyo melett, a Hudson volgyben. Talan hallottatok rola, itt volt Chelsea Clinton eskuvoje.
Yes I did get two skeins of yarn. They are 100% superfine alpaca. It is from Delly's Delights Farm from Trappe, MD. They are so soft, that I had them on my lap all the way home, and caressed them as they were kittens. The colors are beautiful. I can't wait to find a fitting pattern for them. Each is 650 yards, and considered sport weight.
Olyan puha mindketto, mint amikor ember kiscicat simogat. Pont igy ereztem, mig az olemben voltak hazafele.
Delly's Delights Farm's website is not running yet, if you would like to get in touch with them, you can send an email to Connie@DellysDelightsFarm.com or give her a call at 410-4763821.

knitting-Haruni shawl
I have finished my Haruni shawl. It seems that on average it takes me 3 months to finish a shawl. I am more interested now how many hours does it take, so I am going to start to count the actual hours.
Here is my first blog entry on Haruni.
Vegre befejeztem a Haruni kendot.
Some pictures of the blocking:
Par kep a blokkolasrol:
Before blocking the shawl.
Blokkolas elott igy nezett ki a kendo.
What I have learned from knitting this shawl?
I will use beads next time that are more visible. I thought that shiny beads would be too much but I was wrong, these matte beads hardly show. I have learned how to do the Crochet bind off, it is not hard but takes a lot of time.
Mi ujat tanultam mig ezt a kendot kotottem?
Legkozelebb megiscsak a csillogo-villogo gyongyot fogom hasznalni. Meg is vettem, de tul flancosnak tunt. Most aztan a matt gyongy csak a blokkolason latszik. Most eloszor csinaltam a horgolasos lekotest, ami nem nehez, de milyen idoigenyes!
I have increased the pattern size a bit. On chart A I have repeated the pattern two more times. So the initial pattern has 12 leaves on each side, and mine has 14 leaves.
I have learned that with lace knitting, I knit loose. I absolutely love this yarn. and of the two skeins I have a little bit left.
